Why Blog About Health?
Hi! My name is Alexis. I am currently a student at Texas A&M and am majoring in Chemical Engineering. But, underneath my love for math and science, I have an even greater passion for cooking and nutrition. I absolutely love reading food magazines, pinterest-ing new recipes, making dinner for my family, researching health benefits of different foods, and much more. I have always dreamed about writing a cookbook or starting a restaurant, so I thought why not start with a simple blog. I'll enjoy it, you'll enjoy it! It's a win, win situation!
Health is Wealth is a blog where I can share my thoughts about food, nutrition, health, new recipes, etc. Why the title? Well, I firmly believe that health is wealth. Without good health, people are miserable, no matter how much money they have. On the other hand, a healthy lifestyle has countless benefits, such as a healthy heart, a glowing complexion, energy, and few illnesses. We often forget that food is nature's medicine. Recently, I was reminded of this when I watched the film, Fat, Sick, And Nearly Dead, by Joe Cross. Check out his website: http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/ and watch the DVD! Inspired by Joe's film, I bought a Vitamix to make nutritious smoothies and juices. And let me tell you, I think the Vitamix will be one of the best kitchen investments I have ever made! In total, my goal is to try to help my family eat healthier by incorporating more fruits and vegetables into their diet while limiting their intake of processed foods. It's going to be a challenge, but it is one worth investing in! After all, health is wealth. Now that you know a little bit about me and why I am starting this blog, let's get to it!
